The Federal Human Resources Specialist will provide human resources and workforce-management support to the Department of Commerce Office of Security, Insider Risk and Continuity (OSIRC) within its Administrative and Management Office (AMO).
The position will focus primarily on talent acquisition, staffing, and hiring initiatives. The specialist will work with AMO management, hiring managers, senior leaders, and Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) talent acquisition professionals to ensure staffing actions are timely, accurate, organized, and aligned with OSIRC needs and priorities.
The specialist will also provide broader human resources and workforce-management support throughout the employee lifecycle as organizational requirements arise.
The Department of Commerce Office of Security, Insider Risk and Continuity (OSIRC) provides Department-wide security programs, policies, services, and oversight supporting Commerce personnel, facilities, information, and operations.
Within OSIRC, the Administrative and Management Office (AMO) supports the Immediate Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Security, Insider Risk and Continuity. AMO provides organizational and management support across areas that include human resources, workforce administration, training and development, and related business operations.
The Human Resources Specialist will support OSIRC's management of HR activities involving both current and prospective employees. The position will work with AMO leadership, hiring managers, senior leaders, employees, and Department human resources professionals to help ensure hiring and workforce-management activities are timely, accurate, organized, and aligned with OSIRC priorities.

B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent.

Work Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Typically 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This role is not eligible for remote or telework arrangements. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite and be able to reliably report on-site as required.
This position follows a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday.
The candidate must currently reside within commutable distance to the work location.
The compensation range for this position is $30.00- $40.00 per hour. Compensation will be discussed in greater detail with candidates who advance in the interview process, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of qualifications and alignment with role requirements.

Final compensation will be determined at the Company’s discretion based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, geographic location, and contract requirements. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
