Overview

The Systems Administrator is responsible for installing new software releases, implementing system upgrades, evaluating and applying patches, and troubleshooting software-related issues. This role ensures system reliability and data integrity through proactive monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery procedures. The position operates under general supervision and requires sound technical judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

  • Implement software upgrades and evaluate, test, and deploy system patches.

  • Monitor system performance and configuration to ensure reliability and data integrity.

  • Perform regular system backups and execute data recovery procedures as required.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and system-related problems.

  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist in planning and implementing system enhancements.

  • Support security compliance initiatives, including patch management and vulnerability remediation.

  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members as needed.

  • May lead small technical projects or direct the work of support personnel.

Qualifications

Approximately 4 to 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Education

BS/BA degree in a related area (or equivalent).
