Overview

The IT Specialist (Applications Development) designs, develops, and maintains Internet and intranet applications while leading development teams through the full application lifecycle. This role establishes development priorities, coordinates requirements and schedules, and ensures successful delivery of user information solutions across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

• Create user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Internet/intranet applications.
• Lead a team of developers throughout the application development lifecycle.
• Design and develop user interfaces for web-based applications.
• Establish feature priorities and development expectations.
• Determine design methodologies, development frameworks, and tool sets.
• Complete programming using appropriate languages and software products.
• Design and conduct system testing to validate functionality and performance.
• Coordinate requirements, schedules, and development activities.
• Contribute to team meetings and provide leadership guidance.
• Troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple platforms.
• Develop documentation and user assistance tools to support end users.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and development best practices.

Qualifications

• Approximately four (4) years of experience in applications development or related technical field.
• Experience leading or directing development teams.
• Proficiency in web-based programming languages and development frameworks.
• Experience designing and conducting application testing.
• Ability to coordinate development schedules and requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Related industry certifications preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
