Overview

The IT Policy Specialist supports interpretation and implementation of information technology public policy initiatives. This role assists with strategic planning, legislative tracking, and policy development efforts to ensure alignment between organizational IT practices and evolving regulatory or legislative requirements. The position collaborates closely with clients and stakeholders to provide ongoing updates and policy guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting and implementing IT-related public policy initiatives.
• Support long-term IT strategy development aligned with policy objectives.
• Track relevant legislation and regulatory developments impacting IT operations.
• Develop and present policy recommendations to stakeholders.
• Meet regularly with clients to provide progress updates and establish priorities.
• Analyze policy impacts on IT systems, governance, and operational practices.
• Support documentation of policy analyses and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with technical and leadership teams to align policy initiatives with implementation plans.
• Monitor compliance with applicable IT policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Approximately five (5) years of experience in IT policy, regulatory analysis, strategy development, or related field.
• Experience analyzing legislation and translating policy requirements into operational guidance.
• Ability to develop policy recommendations and strategic documentation.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities in dynamic environments.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
