Overview

The Database Administrator II supports the design, development, and maintenance of relational databases used for data storage and processing. This role develops and applies strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery. Working under general supervision, the position exercises independent judgment to maintain database integrity, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and building relational databases for data storage and processing.
• Develop strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.
• Maintain database integrity by cleaning and removing obsolete data.
• Evaluate new data sources for adherence to quality standards and integration feasibility.
• Apply standard database concepts, practices, and procedures to support operational needs.
• Monitor database performance and recommend improvements.
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and validation of database changes.
• Develop and maintain database documentation and procedural guides.
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure alignment with system requirements.
• Plan and accomplish assigned tasks with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Approximately five (5) or more years of experience in database administration or related technical field.
• Experience designing and maintaining relational databases.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and data integration strategies.
• Ability to apply sound judgment in database planning and maintenance activities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under general supervision and manage assigned priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
