Overview

The Contract / Procurement Analyst provides professional acquisition support to program offices by assisting in the formulation of procurement requirements and preparation of acquisition documentation. This role applies knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related government regulations to support compliant and efficient procurement actions. The position ensures acquisition packages are complete, accurate, and aligned with federal requirements and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support program offices in formulating procurement requirements and preparing documentation for submission to the contracting activity.

  • Apply knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition regulations.

  • Assist in selecting appropriate acquisition approaches, including full and open competition, cost reimbursement, and fixed-price contracts.

  • Develop acquisition package documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), Justifications and Determinations (J&As), and related supporting materials.

  • Ensure procurement documentation aligns with applicable regulations and acquisition streamlining initiatives.

  • Coordinate with contracting officers, program managers, and stakeholders throughout the acquisition lifecycle.

  • Review procurement documentation for completeness, clarity, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide written analysis and recommendations supporting acquisition decisions.

  • Maintain awareness of acquisition reform initiatives and best practices.

  • Support documentation tracking and acquisition milestone coordination as required.

Qualifications

  • Approximately six (6) years of experience in federal acquisition, procurement, or contract management support.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience developing acquisition package documentation, including SOWs and Justifications and Determinations.

  • Understanding of various acquisition strategies and contract types.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with contracting activities and program stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple acquisition actions in a deadline-driven environment.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business, Acquisition Management, Public Administration, Finance, or related field required;
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
