Overview

The Training Specialist develops, delivers, and evaluates training programs to support contractor and government requirements. This role conducts research to design and revise instructional materials, prepares comprehensive training documentation, and delivers formal classroom instruction and workshops. The position supports program objectives by ensuring training materials and delivery methods align with established standards and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to develop and revise training courses and instructional content.

  • Develop and update course curricula and prepare training catalogs.

  • Prepare instructor materials, including course outlines, background materials, and training aids.

  • Develop student materials such as manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course evaluation forms.

  • Deliver formal classroom instruction, workshops, and seminars.

  • Prepare training reports and monitor training activities in support of program goals.

  • Utilize training standards and software tools, including modeling, simulation, and prototyping programs, as required.

  • Provide input to the Project Lead and Contractor Program Manager regarding training validation and recommended modifications to systems or processes.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure training activities comply with customer policies and contractual requirements.

  • Maintain accurate training documentation and records.

Qualifications

  • Approximately four (4) years of experience in instructional design, training delivery, or related training development roles.

  • Demonstrated experience developing instructional materials and course curricula.

  • Experience conducting formal classroom instruction and workshops.

  • Familiarity with instructional technologies and training software tools.

  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with technical and program personnel.

  • Ability to manage multiple training initiatives in a deadline-driven environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Management, or related field required;
    OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Related industry certifications preferred.
