This role provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Office of Budget at the U.S. Department of Commerce, helping to coordinate and manage critical operations that support the Department’s budget planning, execution, and oversight across its 12 bureaus.
The US Department of Commerce Office of Budget provides strategic guidance and oversight in the planning, programming, budgeting, execution and reporting of resources. It leads the Department’s 12 bureaus in formulating, defending, and executing their budgets. It integrates all budget formulation, budget enactment and budget execution cycles across the Department.
Provide high-level executive administrative support in accordance with Department of Commerce (DOC) policies and procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and correspondence, ensuring professional and courteous interactions.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events, including conference room reservations and logistical arrangements.
Maintain and manage executive calendars, ensuring timely coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Record, transcribe, and distribute meeting minutes; track and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion.
Draft, edit, and transmit clear, professional communications and executive correspondence.
Review, format, and edit office documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with DOC standards.
Research, draft, and prepare briefing materials, Departmental Orders, and policy-related documents for Department-level review and approval.
Create graphics, charts, and presentation materials for briefings and meetings.
Manage office operations, including supply procurement, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination.
Provide guidance on administrative processes and procedures, exercising judgment and discretion.
Analyze and improve internal workflows, organizational structures, and administrative systems for enhanced efficiency.
Administer specialized programs and support activities that may involve sensitive and confidential information.
May act as a proxy on behalf of senior executives in their absence, including making decisions within delegated authority.
Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible administrative or executive support experience.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities through to completion.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general office technology.
Strong grammar, editing, and written communication skills; able to produce polished, professional correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs and systems quickly.
Experience supporting senior executives in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Familiarity with federal government environments and procedures, especially within the Department of Commerce, is preferred.
Qualifications commensurate with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

Herbert C. Hoover Building, Washington, D.C.
This position requires 100% on-site presence at the Department of Commerce. Remote or telework arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis with prior approval from the Task Manager.
Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required with prior approval from the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
Travel
Travel may be required to attend meetings, conferences, or conduct other official business related to this task order. All travel must be pre-approved by the designated Task Manager (TM) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
